We are currently recruiting for an important unpaid intern role in our Education and Development Departments, looking for the right person to support our team with a variety of filming and editing roles. The Digital Media Internship is available at our Main Hospital in Sausalito. 

Intern Responsibilities

  • Create new marketing and communication pieces for use in marketing and social media
  • Capture video of education instructors and volunteers leading tours and classes at The Marine Mammal Center
  • Capture video of veterinary staff and animal care volunteer performing medical procedures (i.e. surgery and necropsy), basic animal husbandry (i.e. feedings and basic care), and animal rescues and releases
  • Edit new and existing video to create professional-level video productions for both internal and external use

Intern Qualifications:

  • Skilled using a video camera and capturing quality video of fast-paced actions
  • Proficient using video editing software (iMovie or FinalCut Pro) to create professional-level videos
  • Prior experience with Adobe Suite (Photoshop or Illustrator) preferred but not required
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Proficient using both Mac and PC
  • Ability to stand for 2-4 hours 
  • Ability to complete tasks in a productive, proactive manner with minimal day-to-day supervision
  • Well-versed in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills 
  • All applicants must be at least 18 years of age and pass a background check

Intern Schedule:

Ideal candidates serve 3 days a week for approximately 24 hours for 3 to 6 months. We offer flexible end dates and extensions for excellent candidatesTime off must be arranged in advance.
