The Marine Mammal Center is staffed by 40 paid staff members
and over 800 volunteers.
Staff at The Center work in
many departments including Veterinary Science, Administration,
Education, and Facilities.
The Board of Directors
supports The Marine Mammal Center in carrying out its mission,
promoting public awareness, and in fundraising. The Board
also acts as the policy-making body of The Center, participates
in strategic and long-range planning, and insures the financial
viability of the organization.
The Board of Scientific Advisors
provides guidance to the staff and Board of Directors of The
Marine Mammal Center on its marine mammal science and research
program. Members are experts in a variety of disciplines involving
The Center's work, and are well respected in their fields.
The Scientific Advisors meet once a year at The Center to
review the veterinary science program and activities and observe
any new facilities on site, and are available for consultation
throughout the year.
