Enjoy an Evening at the Ball Park!
The 6th Annual Chevron and San Francisco Giants Marine Mammal Day is May 31
Join The Marine Mammal Center, S.F. Giants mascot Lou Seal, and Chevron for the 6th Annual Marine Mammal Day, Saturday, May 31, 2008. The Giants will take on the San Diego Padres at 1:00 p.m. and The Marine Mammal Center will be there to cheer the Giants on while raising money to continue The Center’s mission of rehabilitating, treating, and releasing ill and orphaned seals, sea lions, otters, dolphins, and other marine mammals. Thanks to The Giants and Chevron, The Marine Mammal Center can educate fans at the ballpark and inspire action to protect marine mammals and their ocean environment. The Giants’ mascot Lou Seal, along with the Center’s own mascot, Franny the Fur Seal, will be on hand to entertain the crowd and provide photo ops. Fans who make a donation of $20 or more at the game will receive a limited edition T-shirt and a collectable pin!
Marine Mammal Day is a great opportunity for fans to learn more about what The Marine Mammal Center does. Educators and docents from The Center will be stationed throughout the ballpark with informative displays and fun things to do. The day will also include a special ceremony, volunteer and member recruitment opportunities and educational materials given out from the "Whale Bus.”
During the game, be sure to visit the new Make Your Own Lou Seal store and purchase a special veterinary kit to go with your cuddly plush toy to benefit The Center. Build–A-Bear Workshop® will donate $1 to The Center for each kit sold!
In addition, fans will have opportunities to win some fantastic Giants prizes such as signed balls and bats, jerseys, box seats to future Giants games, and Chevron gas cards. We will also be selling our wildly popular commemorative pins that day too! All proceeds from Marine Mammal Day will go directly to The Center.
