Marine Science Sundays
at
The Marine Mammal Center!
Sunday, March 11, 2012 10am-5pm
Admission is FREE!

The Marine Mammal Center is pleased to present the first in its new monthly series Marine Science Sundays, held on the 2nd Sunday of the Month! These fun-filled days of family-friendly tours, classroom activities and more will be centered around a new theme each month.
In tandem with the release of the Hollywood blockbuster “Big Miracle”, the story of three gray whales trapped under the ice in Alaska, this month's theme is Big Miracle: Fact and Faction! Come learn about the true story of the gray whale’s fateful adventure and learn about what makes gray whales so unique from Marine Mammal Center staff that have worked closely with gray whales. Docent-led tours will take you around the hospital showcases some of the patients we are caring for and how our veterinarians are getting them better. Classroom presentations will feature interactive activities and multimedia showcasing the magnificent adaptations of gray whales, the true story of the gray whale rescue in Canada, and the role The Marine Mammal Center plays in rescuing whales in California!
