Salmon - California Sea Lion
Rescued: January 5, 2024
Released: March 15, 2024
Despite being lethargic and malnourished when he was rescued, California sea lion pup Salmon was active and vocal, a reassuring sign that he would recover. Once at our hospital, Salmon began a specialized treatment plan, and after two months of care more than doubled his weight and returned to his ocean home.
Crabber - Pacific Harbor Seal
Rescued: March 4, 2024
Released: May 17, 2024
Harbor seal pup Crabber was found much too young to be on her own. Not only was part of her umbilical cord attached but she also had a fluffy lanugo coat that is usually shed in utero before birth. After months of care, Crabber began consistently free-feeding and nearly tripled in weight.
Samaloo - Northern Elephant Seal
Rescued: March 30, 2024
Released: May 24, 2024
Northern elephant seal pup Samaloo was found on the beach with people and dogs getting much too close to her. Weak and skinny, Samaloo was in desperate need of help. At our hospital she received the best possible care, where she gained a healthy amount of weight and learned the skills needed to survive in the wild.
