Cecilia Ledesma

Marine Science Educator

As Marine Science Educator, Cecilia supports many of the Center’s school tours and youth programs, with a focus on our middle school programs. She will be working closely with the team to support the Ocean Ambassadors program, which will include leading tours, developing resources and providing event support.

Cecilia has a certificate in bilingual education from the Autonomous University of Nuevo Leon (UANL) in Monterrey, Mexico, and a double bachelor’s degree in zoology and ecology from Humboldt State University, along with three years of experience in animal care and wildlife rehabilitation. 

She has been an Animal Care volunteer on the Topside Sunday Day Crew at the Center for over a year, and has completed several internships with wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centers, first with ARCAS in Guatemala and later at Wildcare in San Rafael, California. 

In Cecilia's free time, she enjoys hiking and camping with her husband and two little dogs, Big Bubba and Bailey, as well as birding, drawing and bike riding.
