Avian Influenza Detected at Año Nuevo State Park

A small number of young northern elephant seals at Año Nuevo State Park recently tested positive for H5N1, also known as bird flu. This is the first detection of H5N1 in California’s marine mammal population.

Education Operations Coordinator

As Education Operations Coordinator, Sabrina supports the development, funding and implementation of Education programs. She is also responsible for the scheduling of programs and staff, development and implementation of data-tracking systems, supporting grant management and training, and providing project and administrative support to maximize the team’s bandwidth for programs, including our Sausalito public programs. 

Sabrina has a bachelor's degree in Marine Biology from San Jose State University and two years of experience in science education and program creation. Previously, she gained experience working closely with the public through science education and outreach at nonprofit organizations in the San Francisco Bay Area. 

Sabrina’s interests outside of work include gardening, making delicious baked goods and traveling.
